What are riding chaps used for?

A long time ago, the only reason to wear chaps was safety when riding horses. The horse riders used to wear riding chaps in case of a fall to reduce the risk of abrasive injuries. It’s still the same for the stable boys, but the thing that time added was motorcycles. Motorcycle riding chaps provide the safety to lower body in case of a crash or drag.

When motorcyclists are riding their machines at high speeds, there is always a high risk involved. Sliding on the tarmac can cause massive abrasions while any blunt object lying on the road can cut the flesh on legs and thighs deeply. Riding chaps are made of high-quality leather that has high resistance against the abrasions, tear and cut to keep the rider safe as much as possible if anything unfortunate happens.
